Why Your Best Ads Start In Your Klaviyo Account
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a thousand times.
Your Klaviyo account is a gold mine in ways you can’t fathom.
What other channel gives you cost-effective, reliable, consistent access to your audience?
I’ll take it a step further; what other channel gives you cost-effective, reliable, consistent ways to test what your audience responds to, and then spread that proven framework to your paid advertising strategy?
With BFCM right around the corner, now is the time to begin leveraging your Klaviyo account to optimize your paid advertising channels during the most competitive ad placements of the year — here’s how using a luxury underwear brand we work with as an example.
Recycle High-Performing Sales Copy
Got an email campaign with an absurdly high click rate?
Maybe a flow template with the same?
Why risk ad budget on unproven copy when you have a plethora of tried-and-true copy littered throughout your Klaviyo account?
Copy/paste those winners right into your ads for a higher chance of success.
Plus, if your CTR on the ad is low, you can rule out the copy as the culprit.
Split Test Offers, Push the Best on Paid
Sometimes all it takes is to put a different shade of lipstick on the same face to get more right swipes.
Let’s say we want to bundle a pair of black socks with a pair of black boxers, both priced at ~$20, but only want to take 10% off the top, max. Use your email list to figure out which shade of lipstick gets the most matches.
- 10% off a bundle of black boxers with black socks
- Buy one black boxers, get 20% off a pair of black socks
- Buy one pair of black socks, get 20% off boxers
- Add a pair of black socks to an order of black boxers, get free shipping
- Add black boxers to an order with a pair of black socks, get free shipping
- Buy a socks/boxers bundle, get free shipping
Utilize Klaviyo’s A/B split test feature across a number of campaigns, use the top-performer as a CTA for paid ads.
Split Test Landing Pages, Push the Best on Paid
This strategy follows a similar framework as the previous; but instead of split testing offers, split test different landing pages for the same offer. Some variables include:
- Positioning of reviews
- Sticky ATC vs no sticky ATC
- Highlighting dollar amount off vs percentage off
- Conveying message via copy vs via photo/video
- Presence vs absence of AI chatbot
Reviews, Baby
I frequently set up automations or send campaigns with a survey that asks a number of questions to first time buyers, with one of those questions being, “What are the top three reasons why you chose to shop with us?”
Almost every single time, “Customer reviews” comes out on top at the #1 reason why customers purchased. Use Klaviyo automations to gather as many reviews as possible and display them appropriately. You can also recycle these reviews as creative for paid ads.
Identify Top Post-Purchase Offers
Taking the time to narrow down top-performing post purchase offers from low cost email sales and apply them to paid offers both increases the cart value and decreases the CPA for paid ads.
Lower CPA = more budget for paid.
Take Action Now
We’re already almost in October, but there’s still time to apply these strategies to get the most out of BFCM and beyond. Feel free to utilize these yourself, or have the Samadhi Marketing team apply them for you.
